What is ulkedoof?
Well, an ‘ulk’ is a European polecat, also called a fitchew. It’s a kind of weasel, a nasty little critter with sharp teeth that will basically eat anything.
The word ‘doof’ is Dutch for deaf.
‘Ulkedoof’ is low saxon dialect and means selective deafness. If someone is ulkedoof he or she only wants to hear certain things and will be ‘deaf’ to others. Kind of like us…
We will bite anything,
but won’t swallow all.
